What we do
Aiming to develop and fully implement an integrated strategy on effective communication between Europe and the Asia-Pacific, our Foundation is framing up its activities to be based on the following three pillars – innovation, interdisciplinarity, and internationalisation. We would like to significantly contribute to the process of collaboration between Europe and the Asia-Pacific, making it more integrated, proactive, optimal, education-based, and in-depth.
The main idea is to enrich the content of partnership between our distant but friendly areas of the globe. Currently, we are working on three major projects, covering different spheres – ‘Have a House’ (natural disaster and emergency relief), ‘E-MAP Executive Summer School’ (communication in business), and ‘E-MAP Academic Internationalisation’ (academia). We cooperate internationally, and we will be glad to hear from you.
Innovation
Have a house
This Project is an initiative of a group of Estonia-based high school students led by Margaret Vernygora and Vesa Mäkelä. It is visualised and designed to become of help for the victims of natural disasters in less economically developed localities of the Asia-Pacific.
Interdisciplinarity
E-MAP Executive Summer School
An offer for a selected number of business executives from both Europe and the Asia-Pacific to get engaged in a number of executive level-originated discussions: be it on Belt and Road Initiative, or on the EU-ASEAN framework of cooperation, or, for example, on crafting a useful platform that could in the process of exchanging ground-breaking business ideas.
Internationalisation
E-MAP Academic Internationalisation
This idea represents an ambitious academic initiative on establishing an annual Index of Interconnectedness (further – Index) for tertiary education links between Europe and the Asia-Pacific.
Contact usAbout usE-MAP Foundation is an Estonia-registered non-profit international organisation. Its abbreviation has a multiplicity of meanings with the main one being ‘Europe Meets Asia-Pacific’. Operationally, the organisation utilises a resurgent interest of Europe- and Asia-Pacific-based studentship, business and academia in establishing a comprehensive communicative linkage between the two distant but friendly regions. We know how to make a difference, offering innovative, interdisciplinary and interconnected solutions. Our logo resembles a ‘hongi’, a Māori greeting in New Zealand. In the hongi, the greeters’ ‘breath of life’ is exchanged and intermingled. After this ceremony, a visitor is no longer treated as such but considered one of the people of the land.
