What is your birth-orchid?
Welcome to Orchidsbooks. Orchids are the baby of the botanical family; they were
the very last born in the plant kingdom, after all other plants took over
comfortable habitats. Therefore, orchids settled down in severe environments
where other plants would never choose to live, such as cliffs with no water,
or on tree branches with no sunlight. Specifically, severe environments
in which no other plants would want to live means there is no water or
nutrition.
This means that ordinary plants cannot survive, which brings us to the conclusion that orchids had to make themselves survivable; they made their leaves and pulp so thick that they can retain moisture and nutrition, and roots are exposed on the ground so that they can take the moisture in the air. Moreover, flowers of orchids have developed to attract insects in their environment for pollination: its unique shapes, marvellous combination of colours and sweet fragrance. If orchids were not a baby of the botanical family, and if they were anemophilous flowers, they would not have had such diversity.
During the European exploratory period, the British brought many new plants to their country. Among them all, the beauty and diversity of orchids attracted people. This is how orchids obtained powerful sponsors: humans. After beginning to raise orchids, people found a joy in the fact that orchids are easy to crossbreed, compared with other flowers, and it was simple to make new types of orchids. God created orchids, and humans followed. The beauty and uniqueness of orchids are forever.
Orchids are now called the most thriving plants in the world. You and I
are observing the continuing development of the orchid.
