The Aztec Master Flash roof pipe flashing product makes the process of sealing roof penetrations efficient, cost effective and very manageable for the roofing professional or the homeowner. Keeping weather out from building interiors is the primary purpose for the expensive roofing materials and roofing designs we use for modern structures. This function could be accomplished so without problems if we didn’t need to pierce the roofing surface at different points. However, there is often no alternative to these penetations at a number of points with vents or pipes, which are needed for venting out or allowing water, gas or electrical in. While essential, these points of penetration are often troublesome areas for leaks to develop. Therefore to maintain the roof’s function of sealing and protecting the building interior from extraneous weather, these penetration must be sealed in some manner.

Initially, it was necessary to have a custom fabricated metal flashing manufactured to address the roof penetration. This was a very tedious and costly process involving a qualified person going on top of the roof and taking appropriate dimensional needs.
As you can easily imagine, these holes in the roof were made in random dimensions, utilizing whatever type of cutting instrument was available. These dimensions would then be taken back to a metal fabricating shop and the custom-made fabricated metal flashing was made. Then another trip up on the roof was required to install the metal vent flashing. This same custom flashing occasionally did not fit as intended, creating a “Rube Goldberg” installation or the need for another flashing unit to be manufactured.
