Preface
This is an engaging story about the travels of my friend Christopher and myself. We would go across 12 different States in a month living out of a car with passion for Jesus. The heart and the driver of this Journey was a desire to see people meet a man; a man named Jesus. What would it look like to see people fall in love once again with their savior? Could we as a Nation once more see the importance of discipleship? These were the driving questions that lead us to experience more than what we thought we were getting into.
Also, the un-covering of our humanity in this spiritual pursuit. Two men with an encounter, heart, and passion for people, out to tell the world about a man, what would happen? This is the story that tells of those struggles and fetes in the face of personal challenges. It all ends with an opening of eyes to see things in a new light wrapped by the beauty of a good story.
The Journey
“Christopher!”  I yelled in excitement as he enters the house at which I was currently staying.  I embrace him with long full hug. Smiles light both of our faces as the night begins that would start the rest of our month long journey across the United States.
We both exchange greetings and then head back out front to unload his car with the bags that would carry us through our travels. “What a house brother!” Christopher says. “I know! I call it my mansion!” It was the first time Christopher had been to the new house where I was living. See Christopher and I are brothers, though not literally he has been one of the closest guys in my life. We have traveled the world together going to over 8 different countries and now a journey across the United States. We have seen great things happen in each other’s lives and this “mansion” was another story that I got to exchange. Most of the times when we get together our first moments together are shared speaking and exchanging stories of what Jesus has done, or is doing, in our lives.
So I tell him the story of how I came to be living in this new “mansion”. I remind him of our travels in Europe and we talk about all the great adventures. But it had been some time since we traveled in Europe. It was that journey that unveiled my eyes to realize I could do anything! So when we returned back to the states it was my youthful zeal that wanted to experience life to the fullest. That zeal is what motivated my next “adventure” which was to live in my car. I had planned it all out and bought all the supplies I would need to do it most effectively for a period of two months. I had bought anything from an outside shower to Egyptian cotton sheets with a 500-thread count. I was prepared. When I set out, officially moved out of where I was staying into my car, the only thing I did not prepare for was the response of those who loved me.
