One of the more well known brands for all-in-one multi function printers is Brother, and one of their more popular machines is the Brother MFC-7340.The Brother MFC-7340 is a great addition to either a home or small office; it allows you to print in high quality black and white documents, make copies, scan high resolution images and even fax, all from one small machine. The MFC-7340 is able to hold and fax up to 35 pages and can print and scan documents up to legal-size. It can even fax and copy without being connected to a computer.Despite being a rather advanced piece of equipment, the Brother Flatbed Laser Multi-Function Center is very simple to operate. Faxing works just like on regular fax machines, and copying is as simple as laying a document on the scanning glass and pressing a button. Installing the machine to work with just about any Windows operating system is as simple as connecting it to a computer using a USB cord and inserting the installation disk into the computer. It does take a few minutes, but mostly to get all of the bells and whistles associated with the printer and scanner working properly.Another great thing about the Brother MFC-7340 is that even though it is for home or small office use, it creates copies and prints very quickly. The auto document feeder also cuts down on copy and fax time; you don’t have to stand there tediously feeding pages one by one into the machine. Additionally, it comes with ScanSoft Paperport, which is an object character recognition (OCR) software that allows you to scan images into your computer and turn them into text documents.Overall, the Brother MFC-7340 Flatbed Laser Multi-Function Center is a solid piece of equipment for any small office or house that has needs for scanning, printing and/or faxing.
