Circumstances + Response = Outcome

from early this morning…As I write this I’m sitting in the County Administration building attending the St Johns County Board of County Commissioner’s Meeting and I’m overwhelmed. Overwhelmed at the goodness and faithfulness of God. And oh Beloved, He is faithful! I’m in the company of local government dignitaries and fellow citizens and I can’t help but allow my mind to be drawn back to the …
countless times I’ve been here before; all of them were a product of an outstanding, Godly man that I had the honor of being his help-meet for over 21 years- Kenny. Yet even greater is the humility I have for serving the King of Kings, Jesus. It is because He submitted Himself to the Father that my children and I are where we are in our healing process. He surrendered His very breath so we could live! I’m not talking about “going to heaven” someday and while that is true, it isn’t the full Truth. Beloved, Jesus whipped and stripped the devil so we could rule and reign in this life, right now on earth, in victory and peace! Jesus restored what the first Adam lost- our dominion. Dominion over sin, sickness, poverty and anything else that does not come from Love (the REAL love- AGAPE). This includes despair, confusion, loneliness and hopelessness . The unseen foundation that I stand on is nothing short of a miracle that manifested through faith by Love.Has every day been “easy”, um…NO! But if it had there wouldn’t have been any room for my faith to grow and grown it has! After speaking with many and reading the stories of others, I see now that how we respond to circumstances is what determines our outcome…will we allow God to be our Comforter?…will we trust Him to be our Provider?…do we trust Him for our redemption?…will we surrender the hidden, broken parts of our hearts? Some days just getting up and moving was done in faith for me; faith that He was already in every moment of my day and already had plans to work things out for good. But what is often missed are the conditions to this promise…He can only turn things around for good when we love Him and when we are in His design, His plan and purpose for our life (see Romans 8:28).
I hope to encourage you…allow the Healer in to the dry, barren spots of your heart. Trust Him and receive the healing and provision He has for you. My kiddos and I are walking, living, LOVING proof that He is eager to do just that.
