The program is sponsored by the State and only requires minimal monthly contributions from the participant. HIP is for uninsured Hoosiers between the ages of 19-64. It offers full health benefits including hospital services, mental health care, physician services, prescriptions and diagnostic exams. The Healthy Indiana Plan uses a proven, consumer-driven approach that was pioneered in Indiana. Governor Mike Pence has built upon the framework and successes of the Healthy Indiana Plan in establishing an even more robust health coverage model that replaces traditional Medicaid in Indiana for all non-disabled adults ages 19-64 and provides all low-income Hoosiers with an opportunity to participate in a health coverage program that is grounded in the principles of personal responsibility and consumerism.
