Thijs and the Leckie group, met at a Dutch American networking event in Scottsdale. Professor Filley, a social entrepreneur faculty member at ASU, brought Thijs to the event. Originally, Thijs connected to Arizona to play baseball with Amster Club, in an exchange tournament with ASU/Baseball. the Leckies went to Scotland and traveling in EMEA, without a US university sponsor and realized Thijs’ had taken a fearless leap forward. Thijs has leadership qualities, a curiosity, a competitive spirit, and is shaping early business acumen, which lead to this adhoc hyperexchange.Thijs took the light rail to from the East Valley to join Leckie through out greater phoenix for appointments where he met Valley leaders from GPEC, MSS Technologies, VerdeExchange. Aerospace venture capitalist (Hot Ventures), Aerospace leadership (Netjets, MD Helicopter, Embry Riddle) and a few local entrepreneurial resources focused on Social Entrepreneurship, Global Supply Chain and Co-working including: (Ideas 2), (Seedspot) and (CoHoots). Thijs shared comparisons with his experiences in Rotterdam and Amsterdam. In December, Global Chamber and GPEC introduced the opportunity to the Paris Airshow. And expanded contacts to the France Air Show Team, the Flanders Trade team, the Luxembourg Space Cluster, and Luxembourg Materials Cluster, which are directly aligned to his degree. Thijs the Leckie group has made appointments in San Francisco (Govini) and Asia (Tokyo) given the expansive growth planned.This fall, the Leckie group in parallel was doing its annual volunteering at ASU Polytechnic/ASU SkySong Explorer’s Mentor Event to “pay it forward” the mentoring received from Herb Finklestein, a former ASU Fulton Staff Member. Turned out that Professor Filley was involved in this same program. Thijs Degenkamp joined the Leckie group presentation to do a Global Business Exchange Simulation to show Freshmen Engineering students how easy it is to create international business relationships.the Leckie group featured a “Heroic Business Spirit” program, and joined forces with Author and former APS executive and Sustainabilty expert, Vicki Sandler, to highlight the importance of students becoming their own chief energy officer. Students engaged in a global relationship building exercise, while wearing a sensor that measured their heart rate and cognitive brain. The mobile app and sensor can be used to help entrepreneurs train themselves to align their the inner balance, a skill that most entrepreneurs need to succeed.the event was well attended and
