In the Nidderdale Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty, the location is known for fly fishing, cycling, walking, trekking and many outdoor pursuits. It is ideal for exploring the Yorkshire Dales, lying between Leyburn, Pateley Bridge and Ripon. The World Heritage Site of Fountains Abbey and Studley Royal is 14 miles away and, indeed, Pott Hall was once a Grange of Fountains Abbey, supplying the Cistercian monks with produce from the farm. Our two cottages have different characters. Pott Hall Barn is a stone barn conversion and is comfortably furnished in a contemporary style. It sleeps up to 6, but can accommodate up to 10 in the living quarters downstairs, making it ideal as a joint booking with the Cottage. Pott Hall Cottage, sleeps 4 and is furnished in a more traditional style. Pott Hall is perfect for those wishing for a true country hideaway. The villages of Fearby and Healey, 3 miles away, are home to the nearest pub, whilst the shops are in the historic market town of Masham, a distance of 6 miles. Masham is situated in the lower reaches of pretty Wensleydale alongside the River Ure. Set in gently rolling farmland, the town boasts a huge market square, The Black Sheep and Theakstons breweries (both organise tours), numerous bars and restaurants, craft / art shops, galleries and a thriving community spirit; the Sheep Fair, Traction Engine Rally, Arts Festival, Victorian Christmas Fair, to name but a few events. For further information on the area, see www.visitmasham.com. Children are welcome at Pott Hall, with travel cots and highchairs available in both cottages and a stairgate available in the Barn. We do not allow smoking or pets in the properties. A utility room allows laundry and deep freeze facilities and lockable bike storage is available.
