Intervention, support and assessment will be objective, transparent and free from prejudice. Rishana Homes is a Residential Family Assessment Centre. Rishana Homes is a Residential Family Assessment Centre. The first unit opened in Romford on the 18th June 2008, the second opened in Bedford in April 2011, with semi-independent flats in and around London opening through 2008-2012. After working with children with special needs for several years Maria Dalley – registered manager of Rishana Homes – and her husband Alney Dalley – director of Rishana homes – became foster carers for the London borough of Redbridge where they went on to foster over 25 teenagers and young children. It was during this period, when fostering teenage boys and young mums that they felt that there was something missing in the services for young parents, while being looked after. Many of these young parents did not have significant role models and thus did not have the skills to parent or form secure attachments with their own children, consequently their children were often removed. They had no family support, often the foster placement had broken down and many depended on substances to deal with trauma or loss. Maria and Alney’s vision in starting a
