Pledge to donate17-52This week I donated to:The American Red CrossAnyone that has been paying attention to 52x52 from the beginning may have noticed that the posts have been less frequent than originally promised. The project is almost a full year old, and with only 16 weeks listed, obviously that means I (and possibly you) have not come close to donating weekly. We all have excuses ever year for not pledging enough to charity, this year for me it was planning for / paying for a wedding (though we did raise almost 10k in our charity registry, so yay to all of you that contributed to that!). To make up for this, I’ll be donating the remainder of my pledges for the year (weeks 17-52) in one lump sum to one organization, The American Red Cross, to help with disaster relief for Hurricane Sandy. At the $52 level that means $1872, at $25 that means $900 and at the $10 level that means $360. I encourage you to do the same if you’ve fallen behind in your pledging, or of course to give to whichever charity or organization you think needs the most help. Weekly donations for year 2 will start back up right after Thanksgiving, as that is when the project launched last year.
