New Board of Directors
The Board is pleased to announce that Dr. Ashraf Mansour is now a Director of the American Board of Thoracic Surgery. Dr. Mansour succeeds Dr. Anne Rizzo, whose term on the American Board of Surgery (ABS) Board of Directors ended in June. Dr. Mansour will now be the ABS representative and will serve on the ABTS for a six-year term.
2019 MOC Exam Live - NEW
Diplomates whose 10-year MOC applications were approved in 2019 are eligible to take and complete the 2019 MOC Exam. The 2019 MOC Exam is now available online and is due by October 31, 2019. The ABTS sent an email to the eligible Diplomates with instructions to login to the ABTS webpage to access the exam.
2019 5-Year MOC
The 2019 applications for the 5-Year MOC and 5-year Congenital MOC were due September 3, 2019. Late applications are due Monday, September 16, 2019.
2019 Certification Application - Now Available
The 2019 application for Initial Certification and Congenital Cardiac Surgery Subspecialty Certification are now available. Candidates interested in certification in thoracic surgery or congenital cardiac surgery can log into their portal to access the application. The deadline for submitting applications is September 16, 2019. Applications will not be accepted after this date.
SESATS 12
The Board is pleased to announce the release of SESATS 12. Similar to previous versions, SESATS 12 contains 400 questions, critiques, and references covering the thoracic surgery specialty, including General Thoracic, Adult Cardiac, Congenital Cardiac and Critical Care.
