The parade goes from the Lion's Park to the Elementary school. Bring the kids as candy is passed out by many in the parade.Fireworks will be held at the park that evening. They were on the roof playing with the bell. Van Buren dispatch was called to notify them what was going on. Person was told no officers were in the area. I know Keeler only pays for 40 hours of police protection a week, and this was a non-emergency on a holiday weekend. Hartford has a Memorial Day parade at 10am through downtown Hartford. Keeler also has a parade at noon. It goes from a dedication at the cemetery and goes along CR 687 through Keeler to Territorial Road. Their press release tells it all :"The Sister Lakes Fire Department is pleased to announce that we have partnered with the American Red Cross and are now a fully operational and recognized Red Cross Disaster Shelter. With a building of over 7000 square feet, a 440 3 Phase 200 Kilowatt generator, 1500 gallon per minute well, and a commercial kitchen we are capable of supplying many of the elements we have all come to take for granted.
