Art Walk Violence Throws Event Out of Focus

The conflict between recent Art Walk participants and police in downtown Los Angeles has brought a spotlight on the monthly event. The Art Walk, a signature event for peaceful Angelenos to enjoy the artistic and cultural downtown scene, has become a springboard for conflict with members of Occupy LA and law enforcement.
The artists have responded by engraving protests in chalk in the downtown area. Activists at Fifth and Spring echoed concerns of gentrification and homeless displacement by the emphasis on new building in the downtown area. Fifteen people were arrested during the fracas with the  LAPD.

Red Line Crash

I predict that with the way red Line MTA car are being packed like cattle that there will be  bad crash soon and many people will sue the MTA because they are too lazy to put on a fifth car with heavy summer crowds.

Scavenger Hunt for Union Rescue Mission

NOVEMBER 4th Los Angeles will be awash with scavengers, but in a good way.
The L.A. Scavenger Hunt will return on Saturday,  December 4th. For those that don’t know about this event, it’s an all  day scavenger hunt that covers the greater Los Angeles area. The L.A.  Scavenger Hunt ties in as a material goods drive for the Union Rescue  Mission and the L.A. Food Bank. It is important to us that event serves  as a good cause but is also a great time for everybody participating.
The Grand Prize for the Hunt is $2,500 flight  credit to Barcelona plus 3 nights hotel with 4 passes to attend one of  the best music festivals in the world, Primavera Sound, which takes  place in May of 2011.
We’re also doing a raffle for a 4 pack of tickets  to see Weezer perform Pinkerton on November 27th for those that sign up  in advance for the Scavenger Hunt.
We will be adding more prizes every Tuesday until the event.
Please check “INFO” of this site to learn how to be  a part of the Hunt. Only $10 per person but right now we are offering  an early bird special of $5 per person. This will go fast so take  advantage of it.
