Dongfeng Yueda Kia’s third factory to be completed in 2014

Dongfeng Yueda Kia has finally made an official announcement on its much talked about third production site. According to a report appearing on auto.163.com today, the site will be located in Yancheng, Jiangsu, home to its two other factories. Construction on the site will begin on June 29.
The joint venture has invested a total of $814 million on the site, which will also cover the construction of a technology center. The site is scheduled to begin operation in 2014, with an expected annual production capacity of 730,000 units. At maximum output the site’s annual capacity is anticipated to break the one million barrier.

FAW-Volkswagen may begin manufacturing the new seventh generation Golf as early as August of next year, the Beijing Youth Dailyreported today. The compact will be manufactured at the joint venture’s factory in Foshan, Guangdong.
Only four years after its predecessor was introduced, the seventh generation Golf was announced. While it is unlike VW to release a new model so quickly, intense competition in the market seems to be forcing the manufacturer to adapt quickly.  Chery Automobile has recently undergone a new shuffle in management. According to an official statement, as cited in a China Business Newsreport appearing today, Ma Deji will no longer serve as the manufacturer’s Deputy General Manager. He has instead been assigned to lead up quality assurance work. His post will be assumed by Zheng Zhaorui, who previously directed sales work for the Cowin series of sedans.
According to internal sources, Mr. Ma’s (pictured) new post will be crucial in maintaining Chery’s interest in its upcoming joint venture partnership with Jaguar Land Rover. Mr. Ma has yet to officially comment on the nature of his new position.
