March 22nd, 2014 - Carrier Jr. Continues Strong Start to 2014 SeasonEddie Carrier Jr. continued his strong start to the 2014 season on Saturday evening at the Lucas Oil Late Model Dirt Series (LOLMDS) tour took him to Brownstown Speedway (Brownstown, Indiana) for the 17th Annual Indiana Icebreaker.A stout field of forty-five competitors were registered for the $10,000-to-win event at the historic 1/4 mile oval, and Eddie started the night off strong by posting the overall fastest lap during time trials. Carrier Jr. went on to win his heat race, locking him into the pole position for the 50 lap finale. When the feature went green, Carrier Jr. jumped to the race lead. The Salt Rock Express began to work lap traffic early allowing fifth starting Don O'Neal to close in. The pair waged a battle for top spot in lapped traffic before O'Neal took over the position for good on lap eleven. O'Neal built a comfortable lead in traffic and claimed the win while Carrier Jr. settled for close second. Eddie started third and finished third in his preliminary heart race which locked him into a ninth place starting spot for the 50 lap feature event. Carrier raced inside the top ten over the course of the feature before settling in to a ninth place finish.Saturday's double header started with the make-up event from Wednesday night's rain out. Eddie posted the quickest lap in Group A during qualifying among the 35 competitors signed in and went on to finish third in his heat race, earning him a ninth place starting spot for the $7,000-to-win feature. During the course of the 35 lap affair, Carrier slowly worked his way forward, eventually crossing the finish line with a fifth place finish behind race winner Bobby Pierce, Greg Satterlee, and Steve Francis.A successful 2014 Speedweeks campaign came to a close on Saturday night for Eddie Carrier Jr. Thirty-nine competitors registered to chase the $10,000 top prize. Eddie finished second in his heat race which locked him into an eighth starting spot for the 60 lap feature event.
