The founders of Fresno Citizens for Good 
Government know that in a few years, Fresno will be listed among 
the thirty largest cities in the nation. We also want to see 
Fresno listed among the thirty best managed cities in the nation, 
recognized for our effective government and for our commitment 
to education, jobs, public safety and a healthy environment, 
offering a superior quality of life and city amenities befitting 
the size of our community. We believe all that and more is possible 
if our elected officials all work together in pursuit of a single 
interest: the welfare and prosperity of our community.

The 2010 Elections
The FCCG Board of Directors is pleased to endorse the following candidates in the 2010 elections.
FCGG ENDORSES TOM CAMPBELL FOR THE U.S. SENATE
Has there ever been a better qualified California candidate for the U. S. Senate than Tom Campbell? With a PhD in economics from the University of Chicago (Milton Friedman was his faculty advisor), Mr. Campbell has served as a professor at the Stanford Law School, Director of the Bureau of Competition in the Reagan Administration, five terms as a U.S. Congressman from the Silicon Valley, one term in the California State Senate, Director of Finance for the State of California, and Dean of the Haas School of Business at U.C. Berkeley.
Besides his superb credentials, what most impressed the board of FCGG was Mr. Campbell’s commitment to restoring fiscal discipline to our federal government (go to www.campbell.org to see his plan for reducing the federal deficit in half) as well as his understanding of Valley issues, his eagerness to learn more, and his commitment to be a champion for the Valley in the nation’s capital.
FCGG will be hosting a reception for Mr. Campbell from 5:30 pm to 7:30 pm on Friday, May 7th at the Downing Planetarium (see flyer).
FOUR FRESNO CITY COUNCIL CANDIDATES ENDORSED BY FCGG. 
All the candidates for the Fresno City Council interviewed by the FCGG Board stressed their commitment to public safety. That is as it should be. There is no more important issue for local government. With the City of Fresno facing its most serious fiscal challenges since the great depression, and with unemployment approaching twenty percent, the board focused on how well candidates fit three criteria: governance experience, commitment to fiscal discipline and understanding of how local government can help foster job creation. Accordingly, FCGG is proud to endorse these four candidates:
