We also help people recover from orthopedic surgery, regain movement following bone fractures and frozen shoulders (adhesive capsulitis), recover from various forms of tendonitis, and supply orthopedic braces (including ACL, PCL and arthritic knee braces).Our orthopedic therapists are trained in post-operative treatment of joints, back (spine) injuries, sports injuries, and amputations.We have expertise in using the latest treatments for spine pain (cervical, thoracic, and lumbar) that includes manual therapy, aquatic therapy, traction, ultrasound, electrical stimulation, core strengthening, and abdominal neuromuscular re-education. We commonly treat injuries and pain of the back, neck, knee, hand, wrist, elbow, shoulder, hip, ankle, foot, heel, and any joint are generally treated by a Physical Therapist. Our Orthopedic Physical Therapists also have extensive training in the treatment of arthritis and arthritic joints and several of our clinics have a heated aquatic therapy pool that is especially helpful with arthritis, low back pain, pain with weight bearing, and fibromyalgia. In addition, we commonly treat tennis elbow (lateral epicondylitis), golfer's elbow (medial epicondylitis), plantar fasciitis, and other repetitive use injuries. Our Physical Therapists at First Settlement Physical Therapy also have extensive training in the treatment of CVA (stroke patients), Parkinson's disease, Multiple Sclerosis (MS), and other neurological disorders that frequently benefit from physical therapy.We are able to do Functional Capacity Evaluations (FCE), post-employment physical screening, work hardening/work reconditioning, and vestibular evaluations/treatment for BPPV.
