Post-Gazette) Planting Seeds of Change: The Community as a Garden Ron Finley, international advocate for green activism in urban food deserts, will speak in Pittsburgh on May 1 about his vision for integrating neighborhood gardens into revitalization efforts. Joining the discussion will be a community panel with Justin Laing, the Endowments' senior Arts & Culture program officer, serving as moderator. The free event is part of the Community Conversation series sponsored by The Heinz Endowments and its African American Men and Boys Advisory Board. The doors open at the Hill House Association’s Kaufmann Center, 1825 Centre Ave., with refreshments served at 5:30 p.m., followed by the program from 6 to 8 p.m. Registration by April 25 is required.
