The Inland Empire Council for the Social Studies (IECSS) is a local affiliate of California’s primary history-social science professional organization, the California Council for the Social Studies or CCSS http://www.ccss.org/ Each year the Inland Empire Council for the Social Studies conducts meetings, holds conferences, and puts on an Awards Program to support and provide services for history-social science educators throughout the Inland Southern California. Social Studies Network Meet your colleagues and become part of an ongoing professional learning community by joining the Social Studies Network. Led by IECSS officers and the history-social science leads from San Bernardino and Riverside Counties, teachers and instructional leaders from throughout the region meet quarterly to share ideas and to learn the latest information and opportunities related to state and national history-social science instructional materials adoptions, professional development, student events, and social studies assessment. Membership is open to any social studies teacher, curriculum specialist, student teacher or university teacher educator. CCSS membership is encouraged but not required. Experience an evening to remember and support excellence in social studies education. Each fall, IECSS honors outstanding social studies teachers and supervisors from elementary, middle and high school levels at its annual awards dinner.
