Will the plans made at convention foster into a perfect fair?The 2014 KAFHS Convention and Trade show is history. Excitement was in the air for each presentation at the show. All members were enthusiastic for a great year, even with the issues that plagued some of the attending fairs. All was set aside and attendees endeavored to make the event a memorable time. New members were highlighted and challenged to get involved. The KY Association of Fairs and Horse Shows is there for each and every one that participates at the local level events. We are open to suggestions from all. Information sessions for the 2015 Convention are still in the making. Feel free to voice to any Zone Director or Officer of any programming suggestions or directions. Join us at the Spring Meeting when President David Pace gives us an outline of his wishes for the 2015 convention and trade show. The 2014 Spring Meeting is at Rough River Lake State Park on May 9th and 10th, 2014. Make your reservations and we will see you there. Meade County Fair will be assisting in the hosting for David. Come on down and enjoy a spring gathering of fair folks. The 2014 Trade Show spilled into the hall. It was so glamorous and entertaining. We had 70 + booths and even folks singing in the hall. Elvis is alive: I saw him in the hall. He can be signed for your fair. This was just some of the information and exhibits for our fairs and festivals to purview. We hope all attendees got to walk through the exhibit hall. The 2014 Show Case of Acts was its normal, exciting, brief performances by entertainers wishing to do business with our attendees. The room was packed with attendees enjoying the acts. See you at next year's show. The KY State Fair sponsorship of the Auction and President's reception was another highlight of the festivities of the Convention. Items auctioned off provided scholarship funding for three more recipients from across the state, to any higher education institution. It was again successful in raising about $9500 for this year's additional scholarships. Well done, and thanks to all who provided auction items. No words can speak of the ambiance and ceremony of the 2014 KAFHS Miss County Fair. The pride of Kentucky was presented, each coming from a pageant at local county fair or festival. This year's winner won the local pageant at Nelson County, Miss Kyle Nicole Hornback. But all the ladies were winners and they make Kentucky proud. See you at the local events of 2014 to get the participants for 2015's pageant. If you go to the local event, the 2015 Convention & Trade Show with the Pageant is just a year away.
