August 2012 marked the 150th anniversary of this historical conflict.KVSC 88.1 FM and Ampers presents "A Clash of Culture: Understanding The 1862 Dakota War" in a special one-hour radio feature and downloadable podcast. The feature is also divided into three minute segments available here. St. Cloud State University History Professor Mary Wingerd, Mankato-State University English Professor Gwen Westerman and alumnus Dean Urdahl are among many sources in this in-depth analysis of a conflict that is still felt by many today. Independent producers Milt and Jamie Lee produced the program with funding from KVSC and 10 other independent public radio stations of the Ampers network using Legacy Arts and Cultural funds.
