A history of prominence in Jewellery business 
In the last decade of 19th century when Hindu and sikh shopkeepers were 
the prominent business runners of Peshawar’s famous Ander Shehr Bazaar 
a Pathan Muslim youth named Rahimullah Khan started 
the very first goldsmith shop there. This intelligent and outstanding young 
businessman soon caught attention of buyers due to his clean and honest 
business policy and became a prominent name in the local market in the beginnings 
of the 20th century. 
Owing to his active social profile and incredible efforts to improve the 
image of the market the surrounding businessmen elected him as their chief 
spokesman. It was then when young Rahimullah Khan earned an informal title 
of ‘ Chowdhry '(meaning a noble person’ 
or a ‘leader ‘ in Punjabi and Hindko, the then native languages). 
Chowdhry 
Rahimullah Khan introduced many innovations to the local gold business and 
established himself as a symbol of trust amongst the natives of Peshawar 
as well as visitors from the surrounding towns and villages. He died in 
1950 leaving behind his two expert goldsmith sons Hamidullah Khan and Hafeezullah 
Khan as his legacy.
The 
young Khans established an even bigger jewelery business by joining forces 
under the title of M.Hamidullah Khan Jewelers in Sarafa Bazaar -the place 
where their father started his struggle some 65 years ago. A tragic and 
untimely death of Hamidullah Khan in 1981 left his brother to take care 
of the huge business alone. 
Showing 
steadfastness and dedication to his father and his late brother’s 
dream. Hafeezullah Khan, the survivor, inaugurated Hafeezullah Khan Jewelers 
, a subsequent business to their base shop in 1982 in a rather modern and 
posh vicinity of Peshawar Cantonment. Sensing a promising business scenario 
in the Cantonment area the legendary M. Hamidullah Khan Jewelers was also 
moved to Saddar Road in the early 90’s.
The 
family business of gold and precious metals and stones is now run by five 
sons of Hafeezullah Khan, who have recently introduced the most modern system 
of Diamond Certifications, for the first time in NWFP.
Run 
under the expertise earned from the International Gemological 
institute UK, and a legacy only a 100+ years family business 
can provide, an educated gemologist and expert goldsmiths are united to 
serve their valuable clients in an even better way - what once was a dream 
of Chowdhry Rahimullah is now the reality of his second generation.
