    About NISLThe Hunan Provincial Key Laboratory of Network and Information Security  (NISL), is the focal point of research in network and information security in School of Computer & Communication, Hunan University. It provides research activities between schools, universities, industries and government. Our research focuses on the following areas:  1) text watermarking and information hiding;   2) multi-media watermarking and information hiding;   3) wireless sensor network security;   4) P2P security;   5) network security theory and applications;   6) software protection and software watermarking;   7) database watermarking and security technology;   8) coding theory and applications;   9) biometric authentication and applications.ObjectivesInformation security is an important research area in computer science. With the development in e-commerce and e-government, vast information and particularly some important documents, secret information, military secrets, commercial secrets and e-contracts of governmental organizations, enterprises, non-governmental organizations, national defense and security departments will be transferred via the networks. Research on how to ensure these kinds of information are transferred securely has close links with the individuals, departments and even the development and security of a country.Information Security is a multidisciplinary field which utilizes mathematics, computer science, engineering and associated technologies to solve the insecurity of networks and computer system, illegal copying of documents/multi-media and insecurity of electronic transactions via the Internet, etc. Due to the recent advancement in techniques of attacking many computer network systems, and the insecurity of wireless communications, research in information security is of the utmost importance. Institute of Network & Information Security is established to have a multi-disciplinary research addressing the major security issues in their technical and its applications contexts.
