Information about the hotel, registration and golf outing is now available. The Hilton Palacio del Rio, convention hotel, is located on the famous San Antonio River Walk and a few blocks from the Alamo. Every chapter should consider sending a delegate to this convention. Many topics will be discussed and voted on including a revision of the constitution and by-laws and a new organizational structure. Chapter input is critical to the success of these items. The South Texas Chapter is working very hard to ensure that this will be a fantastic convention. The Friday evening social will be at Sea World and all attendees and family members will have an opportunity to tour the attraction after dinner. Throughout the convention the NISOA Auxiliary will be hosting events for family members. Plans include a bus tour of the city, lunch in Market Square and more. Details on the auxiliary plans will be posted on nisoa.com in the future.On Saturday, July 18, 2015, a National Referee Academy will be held in conjunction with the convention. Attendees will have the opportunity to participate in the academy and observe what is being taught at the National level. This year’s academies should be very interesting with a variety of important topics.Become a NISOA MemberNISOA is always actively seeking qualified soccer officials to join our organization to serve intercollegiate soccer. We require at least three years of officiating experience at the high school level or higher with particular emphasis on demonstrated experience and capability with the diagonal system of control. All prospective candidates must apply through a local chapter so visit our chapter locator page and find the nearest local NISOA chapter to contact about membership.Please visit our FAQ page for a complete list of membership requirements and get started on your way to becoming a NISOA member.Complete Membership Requirements50 Years of NISOAIn 1963, a small group of mostly college coaches met in New York City to discuss the need to improve the quality of soccer officiating at the intercollegiate level. This was the genesis of NISOA. In 1964, there was an organizational meeting and Jim Walder, Philadelphia, PA, was elected as the first president.
