OUR STORY: AN AMERICAN INVENTION, ESTABLISHED IN 1986 BY AMERICAN ARTISAN, ROGER QUESTEL  
In 1986, Questech metal was invented by Roger Questel in a paper cup in the basement of his wood carving studio in New York City. He mixed metal powder with polymers and ceramic to create the first light weight metal composite. Roger moved to Vermont in 1991 and began developing a process to cast decorative tile with a small group of 5 artisans. Today Questech employs over 65 people in Rutland, Vermont, in a 75,000 square foot facility with a view of Killington Mountain. 
Questech has over 1000 different designs available in a wide variety of metals and finishes. Each original design is hand made by artists and model 
makers using techniques that have been developed over the 20 year history of the company. Our products are then cast in molds, using ingredients also manufactured in the USA.
We are very proud of the products we make, the people we employ and the country we live in. Questech Metal and RQ Home reflect the care and pride we feel in each and every piece we make. It is our sincere hope you enjoy them as much as we enjoy creating them.
