Stay Close to the Soul is inspired by the legendary life of surfer, Dewey Weber.  Dewey's approach to life was to feel a spark and turn it into a fire. Whatever sparked his interest, he pursued to his fullest potential.  With such a passion, he pursued surfing his entire life. He had fun, he traveled, and he challenged himself.  He taught his sons, Shea and Corey, to surf and encouraged others to find their spark.  His impact on surfing will be felt for many generations. We believe that Dewey Weber remained true to his idea of what the soul of surfing was. A hard concept to define or even explain, Soul is different for everyone.  For some people it's a belief, for others it's a feeling.  Our hope is that Stay Close to the Soul can encourage and remind people to find their version of soul in whatever brings a spark to their life.  Maybe it's hanging heels on a glassy day at Malibu, or rebuilding the carburetor on a '56 Ford pick-up. For us, it's about sharing what we love with the people we love.  It's hard to argue that there isn't a lot of soul in that.
Stay Close to the Soul strives to honor Dewey's legacy by encouraging others to do what they love and to find the soul in their lives. By creating original artwork that captures a moment, whether it's teaching a child to surf, playing catch in the front yard or strumming your favorite chord on an old guitar, we show the soul is there.  In a culture where it can be hard to take the time, we encourage you to make the time to do what you love and share it with the people you love. As always, Stay Close to the Soul.
