Solar energy is already being used in the heating, cooling and lighting industries just imagine if it were implemented throughout the nation! Unlike with gas or oil, which costs a lot of money and resources in order to even produce, the sun is a renewable source that can be depended on to rise and fall each day. The advantages of using solar energy are much lower electricity bills, along with being more environmentally friendly. Without the need to harvest and convert crude oil into an energy source, the earth can start to be a healthier place for our natural resources such as trees, water, and the air around us that we breathe. Look at the disasters that oil has brought to this world, most recently, the oil spill in the Gulf of Mexico that clean-up crews and lawyers are still cleaning up after. The ripples of destruction are endless when it comes to oil. Solar energy however, does not cause harm unless it is prolonged exposure to the skin.An example of the advantages to using solar energy is a water heater. How many times have I personally, stepped in to the shower, only to find that the water is ice cold? Then the steps to repair the problem are a lot of work. First, now that the cold water has hit my skin, I am cold. I have to get dressed all over again, find my way to the hot water heater, and hope that it is something as simple as relighting the pilot light. If not, I am looking at a pretty hefty repair cost. While the initial investment in solar energy may seem a bit high, the return you will get on your investment far outweighs the cost. By taking the steps and knowing the advantages of solar energy, and using solar energy in your home, you could save as much as 66% on your electric or gas bill each month! This could also be applied to heating the water in your pool or outdoor Jacuzzi tub! Instead of spending a ton of money on the resources to heat the water and wasting time waiting for the temperature to rise, invest in solar energy and keep your pool or outdoor Jacuzzi tub at the perfect temperature all day and night!If we continue on this path of solar energy, imagine the wonders that could happen.
