He summarized it as follows:Andika! is a set of tools which allows Swahili to be written in a standardised Arabic script based on the practice of the late Sheikh Yahya Ali Omar. It also allows transliteration between Arabic and Roman script, and vice versa.Other tools address printing interlinear editions of Swahili poetry in Arabic script, with notes and bibliography. The principles behind the tools could be applied to other languages using the Arabic script.
