TCSW Names Executive Director TCSW is pleased to announce the board of director’s unanimous selection of Paula D. Foster as the new executive director. Paula brings with her a wealth of experience and knowledge of the fundamental mission of TCSW and is poised to move the organization forward as a leader in working for both social service agencies and the Tennesseans they serve. Paula is a proven leader, serving on the board of directors for the National Association of Social Workers, Tennessee Chapter for seven years and as a NASW National Board of Directors representative for three years. She was President of the NASW-TN board as they worked to pass the legislation that created a sweeping overhaul of social work licensing law in Tennessee. TCSW Board President Dustin Kellar, LPC-MHSP, Camelot Care Centers declares, "Paula is uniquely positioned to take TCSW to the next level. Her passion for our work and for helping vulnerable Tennesseans is contagious! We look forward to working with her." Paula comes to TCSW after many years of direct care experience in areas of social services that include healthcare, HIV/AIDS, homelessness, mental health and substance abuse services. Paula has experience in higher education, teaching at UT and TSU in their social work departments in both the undergraduate and graduate programs. She has presented continuing education workshops for social service providers across the state including workshops for TCSW’s annual conferences. Most recently she has been appointed by Metro Nashville’s Mayor Megan Barry to the Metro Homelessness Commission. “I am excited to be chosen to lead TCSW as we continue to advance our mission of fostering broad-based networks between community social service providers and policy makers across our state,” Foster says. “I believe that there is strength in numbers and together we can influence policy and create positive change for those most vulnerable to the effects of poverty, physical and mental illnesses, disabilities, and abuse and neglect.” SAVE THE DATE The TCSW Board of Directors an NASW-TN will co-host a Meet & Greet for the new Executive Director Wine and Cheese Reception DATE: Tuesday September 27, 2016 TIME: 4:00 pm - 6:00 pm LOCATION: TN Disability Coalition 955 Woodland Stre
