Kongreg8 OS2 is nearing completion for the beta release - it's been interesting to rebuild the whole thing from scratch. Still quite a lot of work to do on it and more work to happen after the beta release to extend the initial system ideas. Some bits I'm really pleased about so far :FirewallThe firewall module is actually pretty cool and allows for a default deny all option - implicit allow or implicit deny. You can provide ranges or a single ip (IPv4). One of those "yeah that'd be cool" thingsMy ReportsThe new extended reporting system allows the user to build their own SQL reports using a semi-free-form input system. No more waiting for someone to build a report for you, just create your own and use it over and over once you've saved it!System-wide searchTo make things easier to find, I've built in a system-wide search engine that pulls results from each of the modules. Instant location of info without having to go into a module. And then there's the TinyAcorns managed learning platform I've been putting together too. Loads of coding !Building a brand new MLE specifically for infant and junior schools but with transferrable ability for other areas and age groups. To co-incide with that one I'm putting a new book together on how to use it (started looking at the possibility of running it on a Raspberry Pi). I know, I'm crazy, but the only way to get good at something is practicing lots every day and doing lots of reading and testing. Almost phone change time. Still none the wiser. Think it's 80% guaranteed to be an Android handset though - not paying the iPhone prices after looking around at the Telco's.[0] responses [ view / respond now ] A week that was2012-09-14 (21:28:16) Been one of those tricky weeks where you just feel like it's a struggle from start to finish. Absolutely exhausted which doesn't help, but that's down to kids and injuries and epic work requirements. Had one of those "oh, all that work I did on creating those functions, let's just move that to the trash can" to start the week. Managed to rebuild things in a couple days back to where it was after I'd spent a month or two on it. The point in time where you think to yourself "Ah crap this caused me a headache first time.. and now I need to re-learn how things have been set up after modifications!? aaargh!" Quite pleased I got through the week and the trace output seems to be operating as expected. Few tweaks and checks next week and it'l
