WORLD-WIDE CHURCH PLANTERS
World-Wide Church Planters was founded in 1998 by Steve Wilkes (Professor of Missions, Mid-America Baptist Theological Seminary) and Mark Davis (Pastor, Christ Community Baptist Church, Pensacola, FL) with the purpose of helping missionaries and nationals start new churches. The aim of the organization is to use volunteer teams in reaching the responsive areas of the world. . .where people are very open to the gospel.
WWCP’s basic model is similar to that first developed by a Pentecostal group headed by Assembly of God leader Burt Clendenon. Having successfully used his model around the former Soviet Union for years, Clendenon met with Steve Wilkes and encouraged him to take the model and use it for God’s glory.
Hello Friends,
I am very happy to say that God is continuing to use World-Wide Church Planters to make a difference in the harvest fields of the world.  He is opening up new doors for us to train new church planters and to spread the Gospel of Christ.  It is with great joy that our Lord is allowing us to see many new churches planted every year.  We are able to experience the fulfillment of Jesus’ command given in Luke 10:2 where He says, “Therefore said He unto them, the harvest truly is great, but the labourers are few:  pray ye therefore the Lord of the harvest that He would send forth labourers into His harvest. (KJV)  We at WWCP have answered this call to go into the harvest.  We are committed to training as many new church planters as possible.  This allows us to work in the communities where new churches are needed.  Many times we get to experience the beginning of a new church.  We ask that you will pray for us as we reach out into many areas of the world where there are no Baptist missionaries.  I would also ask that you consider coming along with us on one of our many projects.   Let’s win the world through one new church at a time.
