SimpIRR supports a functional set of featureswhich are used by most network operators.  Our goal is to make publishing correct, current IRR data easy; and to make it easy foryou and your BGP neighbors to use.  You do not need to write custom tools to generate prefix-lists to filter routing informationfrom your BGP customers or peers, because we provide that for you.  You also won't need to check your customers' IRR entries on aregular basis for changes, because we let you know when things change.  Of course, you can de-activate these extra features ifyou don't want them, but most network operators need these things.SimpIRR does not support antiquated, arcane, or too-advanced-to-be-simple IRR features.  Specifically, we do not havesupport RPSL, so you can't express your entire network's routing policy in SimpIRR.  Many networks start out doing thiswhen they first publish IRR data, and then never maintain it.  Most do not bother with it, because it is useless for allusers of public IRR databases, but makes implementing tools much harder.We also do not support some features that get users into trouble.  For example, we do not support MAIL-FROM as anauthentication mechanism, because everyone knows that forging email headers has been trivial since the dawn of email.Any bad guy could corrupt or erase all of your IRR records if you used MAIL-FROM, and doing so would be both easy andvery damaging.
