This website is here to provide some further information on the ceremony and reception, and to give an indication of the logistical details. For those who do not know 'Melvy's Wharf', it is an amazing old private homestead [circa 1867] on the Hawkesbury River approximately 1 hour drive north of central Sydney. Access is only possible by boat, so it is very important that you are there to meet the boat trip times [see details below] or else you will need to organise your own water taxi trip.The ceremony will take place in the grounds of Melvy's Wharf at around 2pm, and then the drinking and feasting will follow on from there. How do we get there?
You will need to get to Kangaroo Point where you will be ferried upriver on our 'private yacht':o) Google maps link.Make your way to the start of the Sydney Newcastle Freeway (F1) either off Pennant Hills Rd (Cumberland Hwy) or off Pacific Hwy (near Wahroonga).Head North on the Freeway (F1) and drive for about 23.6km. Once you go over the bridge (over the Hawkesbury River), take the Pacific Hwy exit on your left.
Go through the roundabout and then follow the signs to turn right onto Pacific Hwy. Drive for about 1.5km, back over the Hawkesbury River on the other bridge, looking out for the first (almost hidden, very sharp) turn onto the driveway on the left. Park your car in the free carpark which is up the ramp on your left. Walk down to the wharf and onto the boat 'MV Zarapeto' which will ferry you to the wedding venue.
The Zarapeto will be at the wharf at precisely 1pm on Saturday. Please be ready on the wharf at least 15 minutes earlier than the boat arrival time to avoid any delay...
