The SL500 engine runs without sound or vibration at idle and normal speeds. It has more power than even the largest military Hummer, yet when pushed merely makes a slight whooshing sound while objects from afar get very big very fast and evaporate in your rear view mirror almost instantly. Shifting through the gears the SL500 gives no jerking forward and back, but instead offers continuous, unbroken smooth acceleration more like a silent turbine jet engine.
