Florida USA1980 - 1990 Director UK and European office of the I.I.R. in LondonTravelled extensively with Dwight Byers promoting the Ingham method of reflexology across Europe and Internationally.Ran two busy practices in London one in the centre and one in North London.The evolvement of A.R.T.After being invited to take part in clinical trials on the efficacy of reflexology in various gynaecological conditions I realised the need for other modalities of reflexology to be incorporated into the existing model. From this the basic tenets of what was to be known as A.R.T. (Advanced Reflexology Techniques) were born.This combination proved to be therapeutically superior across a broad spectrum of clinical conditions.1989 I was invited to teach the A.R.T. modalities in the UK, Europe and Internationally. Teaching is ongoing to this day.I have always looked at the concepts of A.R.T. as an Evolvement of the original concept, which is the classical approach of reflexology as originally defined by Eunice Ingham (The Mother of Reflexology).Eunice Ingham stated ‘Stagnation is death, circulation is life’. This is true of A.R.T. Since its inception in 1989 it has naturally evolved, although the basic concepts remain, many refinements and changes have taken place.Focused Reflexology®Because A.R.T. has evolved over 30 years (at the time of writing) I decided to register all the concepts under the umbrella description of Focused Reflexology®The dilution of reflexologyBecause of the length of time I have been involved with reflexology, I have been able to witness the steady dilution and deterioration of reflexology.This may not be evident to those who have been in reflexology over the last few years and particularly to those new to the therapy. However it has to be realised that the continuing dilution is a fact, and is born out by those who have been in practice for many years.
