Michael J. Morrison received an Engineering Degree from Case Western Reserve University in 1975, and his Medical Degree from Ohio State University in 1979. During his residency at Case Western Reserve Affiliated Hospitals in 1980-1985 he had particular interest and focus on total joint replacement. He received additional training in the then-new techniques of joint replacement/revision with porous coat uncemented techniques, and these have now become the preferred techniques for joint implant fixation whenever possible. The knee, hip, and shoulder are the major joints that suffer trauma and are involved with arthritis.
