What? Who? Where?   
So why are you here, what happened and where is all the stuff?
Well the short story: Server crashed and DHT 
stinks.
The longer story: 2 of my friends once had their own 
hosting company, however since it was more a sparetime company than their way of 
living they sold their company and its customers to DHT 3-4 about 3-4 years 
ago.
Every customer received a snail-mail letter telling us about the sale, and 
that DHT was a more serious provider and that all of out sites would be moved to 
DHTs server and daily backup would be taken.
Well....time went by, and site was never really moved from the old server. 
From time to time, the server had hick-ups which involved DHT calling my friends 
(the old hostees) since they could not figure out the setup.
Then as you properly know it happened. My mailservices started to do frequent 
time-out, FTP to site had unreliable speed, making transfer pauses every 10 
seconds.
I placed a ticket with DHT's support, never really heard from them, then 
after a week or so, there was no contact with server at all. I gave it some 
days, they might actually have read my email and was fixing the server.
After 2 days I called them:
DHT: This is DHT customer support, how may I help you
BJ: Hi this is BJ, my site is down
DHT: what is the site's name
BJ: bjoeg.dk
DHT: Mhmmmmmm b...j...o...e...g.dk??
BJ: yeah
DHT: Ohhh yeah that is right, there is a technician looking at that server 
this very minute.
BJ: Very well I just wait then, have a great day.
Well then some 3 more days went, still no site up. So I called them 
again:
DHT: Welcome to DHT customer support, how may I help you?
BJ: This is BJ, I am calling to check with status of my site which is 
down
DHT: what is the site's name
BJ: bjoeg.dk
DHT: Mhmmmmmm b...j...o...e...g.dk??
BJ: yeah
DHT: Ohhh yeah, that server died 
BJ: I see, well what about my site then
DHT: Yeah, I am afraid everything on that server was lost, it cannot be 
saved.
BJ: Well you do have a backup, right?
DHT: Mhmmmm.......no
BJ: What?! When I was transferred to DHT from TriWeb we were told that our 
sites would be moved to your systems and daily backups would be made
DHT: Mhmmm yeah but your site was not moved and there is no backup
(Since I work with IT, I already had realized the 
factor of backup............there was nothing to do. Partly my own fault for not 
having a backup of the site, and partly their fault for not taking 
backup)              
BJ: So what can you offer me?
DHT: We can move you for free to our servers with web and mail services.
BJ: I need to consider this, I'll return
I already had a plan what I would do. Get DNS hosted for free and host site 
and mail either at home or at work (the benefit of being Network 
administrator)
So now you had it, this is why the site is/was down and why a big part of the 
files are gone
