The Mission of Broadway Community, Inc.
is to provide emergency food, clothing and shelter to  those in need,
as well as long-term support aimed at healing the body, mind and  spirit.

Broadway
Community, Inc. (BCI) is a faith- and community-based social service organization
that strives to make a difference in the lives of the people who walk through
our doors. 
BCI represents a community of people who have committed themselves to rebuilding
their lives, restoring harmed relationships with their children, families, and
friends, and healing their bodies, minds, and spirits to prepare to work again
and live the lives they were intended to live.  
In 2011  BCI impacted the lives of hundreds of people with meals, showers,
shelter, counseling, healing workshops, internships and training.
BCI serves people in need from all backgrounds, regardless of age, ethnicity,
gender identity, nationality, religion, or sexual orientation. Our staff and
volunteers are committed to the best care possible to each and every person.
BCI’s small staff and large volunteer base of more than 350 people offer:
Emergency services including a soup kitchen, clothing pantry,
food pantry, a seven-night-a-week men’s shelter,
onsite medical services, and shower ministry
Social service emergency referral services
Long-term individual and group counseling to participants dedicated
to rebuilding their lives after the debilitating results of long-term
poverty and profound loss
Specialized life skills training through several educational workshops
and activities to develop the life skills necessary to gain employment,
build healthy relationships with members of their family and children,
and better cope with constant stress
Work readiness training through both a Food Service Training program
in conjunction with the soup kitchen and volunteer internships
Healing arts including art, theatre, and music to encourage people
to access and experience healing through the arts
Community environment healing the body, mind and spirit through a spiritual
approach to our work.
