Both Saturday and Sunday were nearly perfect with temps in the high 70s and low 80s. So, on Sunday the girlfriend and I decided hop in the Vette and take a drive up to Lake Geneva, Wisconsin. It’s only 95 miles north of where I live, so we decided to take the back roads the whole way up and it was worth it. It was a beautiful drive through the Illinois countryside with the top down and the wind in our hair. We got up there early afternoon and the lake was beautiful. We’ve been coming up here for the past several years but never this early. In the past we’ve always waited until mid October when the fall colors are at their peak. There’s usually a fair amount of people there, but yesterday it was crawling with people, no doubt attracted to the lake by the beautiful weather. We found a nice place to hang out, got some sun, and enjoyed some fresh lake perch. one thing that’s readily apparent, there’s a hell of a lot of money up here. Expensive cars, boats, and homes that would blow your mind. The only way I could afford a place up here would be if I was holding a winning Powerball ticket! Even still, it’s a nice place to spend a few days just enjoying the lake and hitting the many shops and small towns nearby. We’re hoping to return next month. There will be fewer people on the lake but the fall colors are always spectacular. -keep Note: Sorry about the date stamp on the photos—used the girlfriend’s camera!
