Rejoice, all ye nations!A spokesperson from Verizon has told Ars Technica that Verizon will, in no way, stand between Google and it's Pixel phones when it comes to updates.Many were concerned when a statement from Google explained that Verizon would be in charge of handling updates for the new G phones.  Given Big Red's track record, those concerns were more than justified.But now, we've got it direct from a representative of Verizon that devices bought through them will be updated alongside all other Pixel devices, purchased elsewhere.  What's more, the version of the Pixel devices sold by Verizon is unlocked, so you could just as easily take the phone to AT&T or any other carrier.Here's the quote from the spokesperson, for more details:First and foremost, all operating system and security updates to the Pixel devices will happen in partnership with Google. In other words, when Google releases an update, Verizon phones will receive the same update at the same time (much like iOS updates). Verizon will not stand in the way of any major updates and users will get all updates at the same time as Google.Also, the Verizon version of the Google Pixel is carrier unlocked, so you can use it where ever you like.
