As of August 20, 2016 the committee's official list shows 29 applying states. As we explain elsewhereso-called rescissions by any state do not count as there is noprovision in the Constitution which permits states to "rescind"applications. Further federal law prohibits members of Congress fromremoving federal public record. Therefore all state applications arestill valid and in full force. Thus the committee has already collectsufficient applications to cause a convention call by Congress.
