We are a website focused on helping all levels of experience related to rainwater catchment and reuse. We provide current innovations and traditional proven information. We have provided links for further investigation as well as white pages for gaining a basic understanding of various elements of water catchment and reuse. We also offer design services if you do not want to attempt some project on your own.  If we cannot help you, we will put you in touch with a rainwater harvesting expert closer to your location.

Rainwater Catchment and Reuse
Forgotten Rain, Rediscovering  Rainwater Harvesting was the name of our first book and Forgotten Rain became the name of our first company.  Our second book, Design for Water, is closer to our current passion in water catchment and reuse. Both of these books are available in our library. We have been working with low impact development techniques for over 27 years, producing educational material and practicing rainwater harvesting catchment design for over 10 years, and plan to continue with an expanded vision for all types of water catchment and reuse in future years. Our focus is on a process we call cascade water cycling and how we can use this process to increase effiencies in all systems dealing with water. We call this technique hydrocharging. 
    
Cascade Water Cycling
This is a process of taking a water supply using it one time for the highest quality it allows and reusing it for the next possible water quality use then reusing it a third or fourth time before cleaning and releasing it back into the environment. Each time the water is used it cascades down to the next water quality use.  An example would be catching rainwater for use as cooling tower makeup water, using the cooling tower blow down to flush toilets, then treating the blackwater and using it for landscape irrigation. One water source is used multiple times instead of using treated potable water one time.
Hydrocharging
This process includes using water, captured and reused water, to make one action more efficient while accomplishing a second action.  A simple example of this process would be using captured rainwater for landscape irrigation through low impact development (LID) techniques – irrigating the vegetation and infiltrating excess water. This example enhances a natural proc
