Many of you know I teach several courses on surface pattern design for Skillshare. This week, I’ve been trying to think of new ways I can connect with my students, and so I’ve decided to host an Instagram photo challenge! Participating with the challenge and using the official class hashtag (#PATTERNDESIGNwithBONNIE) will bring us all together on Instagram, help us discover each other’s work and get to know each other a little better. hooray!>> Want to join? A photo challenge is where everyone posts each day on the same topic (see the schedule above). Participate by simply posting a photo to your Instagram feed on the correct day and use the challenge hashtag, #PATTERNDESIGNwithBONNIE. Feel free to interpret the prompts however you like!What’s a hashtag? Hashtags are a way to categorize social media content. When you use the challenge hashtag, it will automatically become ‘clickable’ on Instagram. When you click on it, you’ll see everyone’s pictures who have also used the hashtag!Why is this so awesome!? The hashtag will bring us all together in one place. We’ll be able to meet each other, see each other’s work and expand our relationships to Instagram! Findability: This will also help increase your ‘findability’. Trending #’s are the perfect way for you to gain new followers (you never know, one of them could be the art director to your dream company!).
