How long will it take?One of our most popular requests is to adopt one of our goldens needing a forever home. We want to give you an update of our current waiting list status of hopeful approved adopters who are waiting for a golden and our applicants who are waiting to start the application process.We have a waiting list of approved adopters who on average have been waiting 4 months for a golden to be matched to their family. There are many families who are patiently waiting longer than 4 months for a new furry family member.  Be aware that our most popular age, which in turn will be the longest wait, is really 4 to 6 year old dogs. This is followed closely by the under 1 year olds to 3 year old dogs.  There currently is a long list of approved applicants waiting for a dog in these age groups to become available.  Our matchmaking finds the best family to meet our dogs needs and our adoption process and policies are reflected on our How to Adopt web page.Our application team remains very busy with the numerous applications coming in for goldens or golden blends.
