Why We Fight
Monthly, public service workers are attacked and blamed for the fiscal status of NY state and others. Firefighters do not do this job to get rich. We do this job for the love of the community, the people in it and the desire to serve others. The above video out of Florida brings to light some of the dangers we face everyday and what we fight against. Every day firefighters fight against cancers caused by the hundreds of chemicals we come in contact with everyday, whether it's chemicals in a house fire or chemicals from the vehicles we operate.
Local 3794, like many others, fight for their members, to make sure everyone goes home safe and are provided the tools and benefits to stay healthy.
