IDC Worldsource Insurance Network Inc. (IDC WIN) is dedicated to setting the benchmark for service excellence.
We are one of Canada’s largest life insurance managing general agencies, with strategically located offices across the country. Our talented national team offers advisors a diverse network of professionals who have earned a solid reputation as industry leaders.

IDC WIN is a company with a sound and stable history; from our firm beginnings in Guardian Capital Group Limited in 1962, we have grown to serve over 2,000 insurance advisors, who sell products from all major life insurers and have $5 billion in segregated fund assets under administration.
We are one of three divisions under the Worldsource Wealth Management Inc. umbrella, a fully integrated wealth management company that is focused on building financial prosperity and delivering a full range of financial services.
Our History
At IDC WIN we are proud of where we came from and how that unique history helped form who we became.
Our founders, Paul Leonard and Bob Trowbridge, each had highly successful careers as agency managers. They also shared joint goals of creating independent life insurance agencies geared to supporting career agents.
Paul Leonard’s vision manifested in the creation of IDC Financial, a company focused on allowing advisors to maintain independent businesses for themselves, but not by themselves. Bob Trowbridge, a successful recruiter and management executive, leveraged his strong relationships and mentoring into building the Trowbridge Financial Network.
In 2004 Trowbridge Financial Network became part of the Worldsource Wealth Management Group of Companies (part of Guardian Capital Group Limited), providing insurance products and services nationally through the Worldsource Insurance Network.
Worldsource Insurance Network and IDC Financial had a decade-long working alliance. On July 1, 2011, they merged to create IDC Worldsource Insurance Network (IDC WIN).
IDC WIN has grown significantly through advisor recruitment and acquisitions. In November 2012 IDC WIN acquired the MGA business of Strategic Brokerage Services based in Calgary Alberta, including the business of the associated firm, SBS West, located in Langley, BC and Edmonton Alberta. In 2014 they acquired MGA Capital Management Financial Advisors Inc., based in St. John’s Newfoundland. Further expansion occurred in 2015 with the acquisition Valley-Wide Financial Corp., located in Abbotsford, BC and most recently, First Prairie Financial Inc. a leading regional MGA based in Edmonton.
