Home Services Offered Substance Use Disorder Training CISM Training Mental Health Training Licensing Supervision Book, CD, CISM Prompter, & DVDs Articles Contact Us Welcome Kantu Consultants LLC provides skill based training and consultation on the topics of Behavioral Health, Substance Use Disorders, Trauma, Treatment Approaches, Crisis Management, Workplace Violence Response and Critical Incident Stress Management. Our goal in training, consultation and supervision is to have participants not only be familiar with the concepts and terms of evidence-based practices, but to have also practiced the skills necessary to carry out the activity. We supply the practical experience, adult learning based training, and materials for participants to gain skills in implementing these intervention approaches. We also provide supervision for individuals to advance in social work or psychology licensing. We have provided training to public and private mental health agencies, schools, churches, hospitals, industry, police, fire, and EMS services, airlines, the military and crisis centers. In addition, we have provided training at various local, regional, national, and international conferences. In total, we have made presentations in 25 states in the US, 4 Provinces in Canada, and a total of 4 different countries. We look forward to the possibility of working with you! Our Consultants Dennis Potter, LMSW, CAADC, CCS, FAAETS Dennis Potter is a licensed social worker and certified addiction counselor. Dennis has received training and supervision in Cognitive Therapy from the Beck Institute in Philadelphia, PA. He has participated in a train the trainer courses in Motivational Interviewing and has provided this training to a variety of mental health, substance abuse agencies and in the business community. Dennis also provides training programs on various topics of mental health issues and treatment approaches, substance use disorders and treatment approaches, and critical incident stress management. Dennis, along with Paul LaBerteaux helped to form one of the first community based Crisis Response Teams in the country. He was one of the founding members of the Mid-West Michigan CISM Team and the Michigan Crisis Response Association. Dennis is recognized as a Fellow, by the American Academy of Experts in Traumatic Stress. To achieve this credential, Dennis completed a comprehensive application and examination, along with supporting documentation, to validate his experience in working with survivors of traumatic events, knowledge of the literature, and level of education. Since 1989, Dennis has helped to train many of the CISM teams in Michigan and frequently is called upon for consultation after particularly difficult events. Through their association with these teams, Dennis, Paul, and Jim have conducted or consulted on all manner of traumatic events for communities, businesses, schools, police, fire and emergency servic
