Web standards are much the same, they help ensure the roof doesn't fall in when the wind picks up or you try to do some renovations in a few years time, unfortunately not all developers comply with web standards. Compliance helps make the internet affordable and accessible for everyone. Sounds expensive... Nope. Having a website people find when they're googling (even if they don't know that it's you they're looking for!), having a website that's quick and easy to change as your business grows or your community group develops, and making sure everyone can read your website (even blind people) makes good economic sense. I've never bought a website before, what do I do? Email Andrew (andrew@macdermid.net), or ring up (0403 807 400), then have a chat about what you need, you think some more about what it is you really need now and what you'd like long term, then you and Andrew can nut out the details over a coffee. Andrew will write it all down so you know what you're getting, how long it's likely to take, and how much it's going to cost. Then Andrew gets on with sorting out the code and you write the content. Unless of course you'd rather not write the content, in which case you can talk to Kate and she'll draft something for you. So who is this Andrew?
