i'm mike, a 26-year-old documentary filmmaker & video-journalist based in Melbourne, Australia.
as a documentary filmmaker, my passion is integrating cutting-edge theory into practice, producing bold, audacious content that engages an audience across multiple platforms. i am a firm believer in reaching my audience wherever they may be: in their living room, on the bus, at the computer; or in their pocket.
as a videojournalist, i am a self-shooting producer that seeks out small, investigative stories that need telling. currently, i am a field producer with Channel Ten's national program The Project. 
previously, i've worked as an associate producer on the ABC's flagship news channel, ABC News 24. i have also freelanced regularly with the Sydney Morning Herald and The Age, producing video-journalism news content for two of Australia's largest news websites.
my passion for transmedia storytelling has led me to teach multiplatform journalism to Australia's emerging crop of video-journalists at AFTRS, Australia's peak film training institute. i've also taught at the University of New South Wales.
my career in video production has spanned seven years, across Sydney, Melbourne and London, producing anything from short-form documentaries and news and current affairs ... to commercials and corporate videos ... and the odd 'viral' video.
